Jordan Commercial Bank Card Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the mechanism of using the cards issued by Jordan Commercial Bank (“the Bank”) through any digital wallet service provider on compatible customer devices. By adding or using the Card through any wallet, the Customer agrees to be fully bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions shall be read together with:
- Account Opening Terms and Conditions
- Mobile and Online Banking Terms and Conditions
- All types of Card Terms and Conditions
- Any other agreements related to the Bank
In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the Terms of Use, these Terms of Use shall prevail.
Definitions
- Card: Any credit card, debit card, or prepaid card issued by the Bank that is not expired, blocked, suspended, or cancelled.
- Customer: The cardholder or account owner linked to the Card.
- Device: Any smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, or any other device determined by the Bank to be eligible for tokenization or digital wallet services.
- Wallet: A mobile payment or digital wallet service provided by a third party enabling the Customer to make payments using compatible devices and registered cards.
- Passcode: PIN, password, pattern, fingerprint, facial recognition, or any authentication method required to unlock the Device.
General Terms and Responsibilities
Customer Responsibility
- Maintaining the security of the Device and confidentiality of login credentials
- Protecting the passcode, passwords, and Card-related information
- Preventing any unauthorized access
- All transactions conducted prior to reporting loss or theft
- Note: If the Device or login credentials are shared, third parties may use the Cards and access personal and payment information.
No Change to Card Terms
- Adding the Card to the Wallet does not alter the original Card terms.
- All applicable fees, charges, and interest remain in effect when the Card is used through the Wallet.
- The Wallet provider or any third party may impose fees, which the Customer shall bear without liability on the Bank.
Adding and Removing Jordan Commercial Bank Cards
- Only cards permitted by the Bank may be added.
- Card addition may require customer identity verification.
- The Wallet may not be accepted at all points of sale.
- Using the Wallet requires unlocking the Device or verifying identity.
- The Customer may remove the Card through the Wallet provider.
- The Bank may suspend or stop the use of any Card at any time.
Security, Fraud, and Unauthorized Use
- Immediate notification to the Bank in case of Card or Device loss/theft, unauthorized access, or passcode compromise.
- The Customer shall compensate the Bank for any claims, fees, or losses related to transactions conducted before notifying the Bank.
- The Bank may block transactions, disable Card usage through the Wallet, take additional verification measures, or reject suspicious transactions.
- Wallet use is prohibited on modified or compromised devices.
- The Customer must cooperate with investigations and comply with anti-fraud procedures.
- The Customer bears full responsibility for protecting Cards, Wallet transactions, and Device information if lost or sold to a third party.
Privacy and Data Use
- The Bank may collect information for identity verification.
- Technical Device data may be collected or used without identifying the Customer.
- Aggregated data may be used to enhance services without identifying the Customer.
- The Bank is not responsible for data collected or processed by Wallet service providers.
Suspension or Termination of Service
- Fraudulent activity on the Card or account.
- Violation of any provision of these Terms and Conditions.
- Security risks or data breaches.
Third-Party Agreements and Services
- These Terms apply solely between the Bank and the Customer.
- Some Wallet services may be subject to third-party terms and agreements.
- The Customer is responsible for reviewing and understanding third-party agreements before using the Card through the Wallet.
- The Bank is not responsible for support or operation of third-party devices, software, products, or services.
- Customer inquiries regarding third-party services must be directed to the relevant third party.
Limitation of Liability
- The Bank is not liable for malfunctions or errors from the Wallet service provider.
- Transmission or reception failures.
- Unauthorized use due to Customer negligence.
- Use of the service on unsupported or modified devices.
Amendments
- The Bank may amend these Terms at any time according to applicable legislation and Central Bank of Jordan instructions.
- Notifications may be sent via SMS, Email, the Bank’s website, or any approved communication channel.
Communications and Notifications
- By using the service, the Customer agrees to receive notifications, alerts, and security confirmations, and must keep contact details updated.
Governing Law
- These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
- In case of inconsistency between Arabic and English texts, the Arabic text shall prevail.
